Has anyone run an external AFPR and bypassed the original?

It seems to be such a pain to adjust the fuel pressure on the stock style throttle body mounted regulator.
I am thinking of plugging the return port on the throttle body and installing an external fuel pressure regulator (with an integral return port) in the existing feed line. I think this would make fuel pressure adjustments soooooo much easier. Plus many of the external EFI regulators have a vacuum port.
Has anyone tried this before on their TBI?

I havn't tried it, but that sounds like the right way to do it. That's how I'd do it.

i know you can get an Vacuum adjustable VPR for TBI, but it is just like the stock unit. If you want to make adjustments easier, just weld or JB weld a screw or something to the regulator to make adjustments easier.
Or try to achieve TBI fame with your idea, i would like to see the results.
