416 heads, and intake question
can i use 416 casting heads from a 1986 305 HO engine on my 92 TBI?? i have the heads.. recently been rebuilt(unported or polished) and i know i'll need a new intake (87 and less style) but i have one other question
you know that hard vacuum line in that screws into the front of our stock manifolds... where do i plug that if i use a carb intake and spacer??
last question.. if i use all these plus an LT1 cam.. where do i go to get a custom chip made? thanks guys

416's you can use - I'm in the process now. I did port/polish, and cut for 1.94 intake valves. The porting/polishing is easy - you won't do it perfectly if you've never done it, but it's got to be better than nothing. I also had mine shaved .020 to retain compression lost from porting.
The vacuum line questions I can't answer yet - not quite there myself. But I'll tap into something on there, and T off for whatever the pre-87 intake is missing. A kinda "make it up as you go along" process.
Chips I don't know either - again I haven't got that far. I'm hoping I won't need one right away - just need it to run decent, I'll worry about optimal performance later.

The 416's are perimeter valve cover bolt pattern and the center four intake manifold holes are at a different angle (from the '92 TBI). Keep this in mind and you can use the 416's.
