Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum. I have an 89 Firebird TBI, It's red and in pretty good shape. Mostly stock outside of exhaust and K & N. It also gets 27 MPG on the highway, always a plus for a college student that never has any money. It's probably been brought up already, just wondering what everyone's thought on the K&N Xtreme Filter lid is. I'm thinking of putting one on and removing the cowl piece from my hood (its a formula hood). I'm trying to get more air into the engine for as little money as possible, and my dad is pretty strict on keeping the car as stock as possible (he did pay for most of it, so he gets the final say on everything). Just wondering what everyone's experience with it has been. Also, does anyone in the West Suburbs of Chicago ever go to the Elmhurst or Lombard car shows? I'm usually there every week. Thanks.

Welcome to the boards! I think the x-stream top would work great with the cowl opened up to let in a little cool air.
