I don't know too much about cars, but I was wondering this.

I have a 1989 V8 305 TBI, automatic, K&N open element with xstreme lid.

I know that the air pump pumps air into the manifold and to the catalytic converter. What would happen if you ran the hose from the air pump up into the TBI? You might could cut a hole out of the bottom of the base plat of the open element and have a little air filter at the end of the hose inside the open element, or maybe some other method.

Do you think that this is at all possible and would it have any benefits of getting more air into the TBI? Or would this have no benefit.

Watch me dance around this idea.
:lala:
no benefit.

the smog pump can not flow more air then the engine takes, so its not forcing anything in there, and the area isnt sealed so no boost can be formed anyway.

if you are going to disable the smog pump, you're better off taking it off.

good to see you're thinking though
