TBI doesn't care too much.....?
I've run the car about 25 times this year at the track and have tried 3 different air cleaner bases
there was no gain or loss in et
(to remove the choke collar) and have even made one run with no air cleaner--it slowed down 0.2!
I even made one run with the gear selector in 2nd!
Went through the traps at about 5200rpm. That was my fastest on a paticular night. (2.73s)

Because almost any air cleaner you put on it will flow WAY more than the engine will pull, in stock form anyway. I thought my car went faster with the open air cleaner because it sounded so much better and seemed to pull harder, but when I took it to the track there was almost no difference in times. It only improved after I changed cams and ported the heads, added headers and full exhaust, and increased fuel pressure some.
