possible mods
ok heres what im thinking about doing. Ive got aout a 1000 to play around with. Im trying to do this with parts that will swap onto a 350 once the 305 goes. By the way ive got a worthless lo3 with a 5spd. Anyways what ive got planned so far is slp or hooker headers, with a hooker cat back. 416 casting heads ported and polished and cleaned up or l98 heads (will those work on the lo3). and LT4 cam, remove smog equipment and an edelbrock manifold (what would be the best manifold). And 3.23 rear. What kinda performance will i see from that and what kinda suspension mods would go good with this setup. Remeber that ill be going to a 350 in the future.
Thanks

You are going to need a lot more than a grand for all of that. headers, cat-cak, new cat, and supplies will run you a grand. (if you go with slp's). I have an brand new LT4 cam forsale and timing chain that I am trying to unload for $200. You can always get a used LT1 cam for $50 or so. 416 and l98 heads will work an LO3 no problem. If you added a set of those to either of LTx cams you will have a nice gain. However, that is only after you have a full exhaust, money to burn your own chips or pay to have it done and few other things like fuel delivery and such. It is a never ending chain of weak links with the LO3. You can get a really nice suspension set-up for a grand though.
Panhard bar = $100
LCA's = $100
LCA Relocation Brakcets = $70
Subframe Connectors = $185
Springs = $200-250
Wonderbar = $60
Strut Tower Brace = $100
That leaves you just under a grand for extra things you made during the install.
