168 or 153 tooth flexplate? anyone know?

168 or 153 tooth flexplate? anyone know?

How many tooth flexplate comes stock on a '91RS 305TBI TH700R4 tranny, 153 or 168?

I'm 90% sure you have the smaller 153 tooth flywheel. Only trucks got the bigger one and it won't even fit in the bell housing if I remember correctly.

don't know about flexplates....i'm a manual guy.

but all thirdgens manuals got 153 tooth flywheels.

153 is stock, but 168 will fit in the bellhousing...

Reason I'm asking is I'm getting ready to have the inards balanced of the 388ci I'm building. And I'm down to getting flexplate and balancer. Im still going to talk to B&M but I've heard that the #3970010 blocks use a 168 tooth, if thats so I so hope that it does fit in the bellhousing. I by all means want to use my TH700R4 trans. Just wondering what came stock though in case they asked.
