I think its a little expensive for the power its putting out. The 350 I just got done building puts about the same numbers as that engine and I only spent about $1400 on it, but then again its carbed. So no I dont think its a good deal. Oh and I bet it will run with the stock 350 tbi pick up chip. Like I have said in the past I have a friend running the GMPP 350 ho in his 350 tbi truck with the stock chip and it runs perfect.

Technically they said stock computer. They didn't say anything about stock PROM

good point... buts that a real shady way of doing business. Oh well, it actually doesn't seem to be that bad. Actually comes with a respectable warranty and produces a pretty nice amount of power. The cheapest way to go, definitely not but makes great power.
Its just the BS stock comp. thing that's got me mad.
Oh, and the bit about leaded or unleaded... WTF?
and the part about it passing emissions... perhaps i just dont understand the complexities involved in building for performance and still passing emissions

Your friend must have better luck than me. I put a gm 350 ho in my truck and it ran worse than the stock 350 with when comparing both engines with the stock chip. A custom chip was the only way I could make it run decent.

Well maybe he is lucky, but I know for sure he is running the stock chip his dad was the original owner. Maybe you guys had a few different parts like injectors, exhuast, etc. Or maybe I am just crazy.
