what is safe timing

what is the stock timing for a LO3 and how much could i advance it and get some power and still be safe for my motor.

Stock timing is 0*. Most people say that you can gain some HP by advancing it between 4* and 8*. My car is at 3*, I think.

The factory setting is zero and is stated on the inside sticker found under your hood. If you can data log you can advance it until you get some aboe average spark counts. To be safe go in 2* advancemenents until you hear ping. Then back it down 2* and stop. Our cars in stock form like 4*. Some have seen 6* or 8* without knock. However, stick with 2* or 4* so that you can run 89 octane.

4* advanced works real well with a stocker and 89 oct.
