Why not a high comp 383?
This debate has come up lots. 350 and 383 make about the same HP, but 383 makes more tq.
Also with the money saved from the stroker kit, you can get better parts for your 355.

The real Question is how much money do you have and what will you be doing with the car? A killer high compression high rpm 350 will be a dog with 2.73 grears and a stock stall, or a brutal 383 will pop t-5's and 7.5 ring grears at will if your crazy with it all the time. Give some more info.

car is a A4, 2.73 rear
would change stall and rear gears
the car is going to be totally restored to orginal, (look anyways, for show classes) but I want it to be fun to drive on the way to the shows, or on a sunday drive
I was planning on a 355, but wanted input from others, for or against.

I would go with the 350 and spend my money on heads cam and intake TBI mods other than a 383. Aluminum heads I would go with 10:1 or cast Iron 9.5:1 to keep out of detonation problems.
