Mass-Flow fuel injection systems by Quality Roadsters?
Mass-Flow fuel injection systems by Quality Roadsters?
Hi,
Has anyone seen these systems:
http://www.mass-floefi.com/mass-flo.html
It looks like a nice setup to flow more air and move to a "dry" TB. Any comments on how this system would do compared to the more common SD systems available?
FWIW, I'm wanting to do something different with my '87 5.7L pickup, but I really don't like the thought of having to "tinker" with it alot or have a laptop beside me. (That's mainly why this system caught my eye).
thanks,
Jason G

This guy or gal had some really good marketing classes. They some how figured out how to put the mas air flow sensor in the throttle body, and then are going to use a completely stock gm FI system to run this. Mass air is not all they claim it to be. You do have to tune it, it is more leaneant of mods than speed density, but also less refined. I think speed density drives much better than mass air.
They probably burn you a chip for what ever injector size your running and call it good. You can do the same thing if you want, but it's kinda like buying the biggest baddest holley carb tuning kit and only using 3 of the jets. The fact of modifying anything is that if you don't want to tune it, then just stay stock. Every thing will benifit from tuning, i don't care if it's a lawmower or a top fuel dragster. The great thing about GM fuel injection is that once you get it tuned to where your happy. You put your ecm back under the dash and forget about it. Their system is not all they claim it to be. The only thing they have that I haven't seen is the Mass air flow sensor is incorporated into the TB.
If you want alot more feedback on this try posting it in the DIY prom board, well that may not be a good idea.

monte i think they give a hoaky ECM which you just hook up to your existing harness and drive. No tuning abilities is what it sounds like. They mention "no harness or chips" so thats the only way i could see them getting away with a mpfi swap on a tbi car.
Have you guys seen the price. Even the ford systems start at $1800 and would be around $2000+ after you actually get the necessary parts (which they should include in the first place). Why waste your time and money on that when you could get a nice holley system for 1 or 2 hundred bucks more and have the tuning of the C950 and speed density.
BTW small block prices were around $3000. Thats rediculous. Go holley or edel and tune your own car

I read down through thier sales pitch and their big selling point was that you could get the ecm at any parts store and that any GM dealership or shop could work on it. I assumed from this that it was just a GM mass air setup with their mass air sensor.

MAF needs equaly as much tuning. And IMHO when you start dealing with large cams, the tuning is more difficult than it is with a SD car. In a perfect world, MAF would messure the exact amount of oxygen, and fuel perfectly based on that, but things aren't peferfect. If MAF did do that, then it wouldn't come with o2 sensors, and there would be no fuel trim programed in.
