Need help regarding wiring for the TPS. Colors for the TPS wires on the 454 TBI sensor does not match with the stock TPS. Any help would be appreciated.
454 TBI
A= Black
B= Blue
C= Gray
305 stock TBI
A=Gray
B= Black
C= Blue

 

According to the print i have for my 1990 454SS..


The center wire is the input to the ecm, dk blue-wht.
'top' wire is sense return , blk
'bottom' wire is ref voltage, gry

I would say hook it up, making sure the center wire is the return to the ecm, and turn the key on, do not start it, and watch the reported TPS with scanner, or put a meter on it. voltage should go up, to the ecm, with more throttle. if it's backwards, swap the black and gray wires (the outside wires).

 

Thanks for the responce. To tell you the truth, I don't even know what year this 454 TBI came from.
