TBI computer differences?
TBI computer differences?
Is there a difference between the computers on the tbi cars will a chip from a 90 work in a 92 i dont see why not but Jet list different part numbers maybe to sell more i dunno? Also both manual cars.

89-92 F-Body ecms where all 8746 and proms will swap between each. The physical hardware is the same, but the firmware on the roms was different.

IIRC the 89-90 ECMs on the Caprice were also 8746. Some people use the copcar chip from the 89-90 Caprice 5.7 9C1 copcar as the starting point for a 5.7 TBI in an Fcar.
The 91-93 Caprice (and Roadmaster and 91-92 Olds Custom Cruiser) ECM is the 6965, which is not like the 8746 so the 89-90 Caprice chips are not compatible with the 91-93 Bcar chips and vice versa.
