how much programming?

that remains to be determined. others on this board can get the job dome more quickly than a novice(me). set FP to maybe 15 lbs. first thing is set in chip/constants the BPW for engine size- inj size- and CID- and FP. a formula can determine BPW. search. after that datalog that engine at idle and above idel in neutral and datalog the results. make a change in bin/chip and go for a easy ride and do same. that would be step one. i run a 2.00 TBI and most likely dont need it till the rpms come up over 4500 rpms. if you still have the smaller TBI unit it may be easier tio establish the "basic" tune and swap in the large TBI unit later. i think the inj's are interchangable from pod to pod..

oh yea. pretty certain the sensors are universal. TPS and IAC. the IAC counts may need to be adjusted? not sure. i believe mine start at 100 cold and zero out.

The sensors are universal. The only thing to watch out for is the iac. If the tbi you are currently running is off of a '88-'90, you will be fine. If it is a '91-up unit, then you will simply need to splice the older style connector into the harness.

As far as programming goes, make sure you properly disable the egr. a search will help there. Also, take holley's injector ratings lightly. IIRC the old holley injectors were rated at 15psi an d the newer delphi's were rated at 21.....but it's been a while so don't qoute me on the numbers. However, you will want to find out so you have an idea as to what to set your injector constant to. From there read read read. There is a lot to learn about diy prom burning.

Lastly, as far as gains go.....I'm not sure if you'll see any. I mean, you definetely will from the chip burning aspect, but I don't think your combo really needs a bigger tbi on. You may actually lose throttle response and a little on the low end.
I would suggest keeping the stock tbi on there and tune your chip. After you get it to where your happy w/ it, swap the holley on there and tune it on a different chip. From there you can deturming which one fits your app better.

I want to thank you for your input guys. I had tbichips program my chip so far but im having trouble having the dam thing idle smooth. At this point all i been doing is reading on diy tunning. I know i got a lot more to read. This winter i hope to get a chip reader and start learning with all the wounderful software that i have come across.
