Fuel concerns... no power... HELP!
I have a issue here with a new car I just bought. Basically I was told that the fuel pump was thought to be bad, and it didnt run because of that. Well I just replaced it last night, and it sure isnt the fuel pump. I tested the old one and it works fine, and I tested the new one and it works fine also. It seems that there is no power getting back to the fuel pump. I checked the fuse, and it was fine, and I checked the diagrams and found that there is a fuel pump relay and another relay that had something to do with the fuel also. Can anyone tell me where in the car those are located? I am thinking about replacing those next. I have a 91 camaro RS, with a 350 TBI in there... (not stock) I am running out of ideas... any help is appreciated.
Thanks

There should be a fuel pump relay in a cluster located on the firewall just above the power brake vacuum booster. there is also another pressure sensor just above the oil filter that looks like an oil pressure sending unit. It reads the oil pressure and sends a signal to turn on the full pump when the main circut fails by reading sufficiant oil pressure to know the engine is turning over.
I have also heard there is an inline fuse somewhere around the passenger fenderwell by the battery, but my 88 doesn't have one there. You should hear the pump run for a short time as soon as you turn the key on. The Chilton's book gives many ways to check
the fuel pump circut by using a jump wire to send power to the pump to check for circut breaks and componant failure. Be sure to check your grounds (neg cable to body and ground strap from engine to firewall. Good luck
