305 w/350 ECM?
I have a set of 601 casting heads, midly ported, that are going on my 305. Maybe a set of 1.6 rockers or mild came as well. I've got a hooker cat back, and soon to get hooker headers as well. Not looking to make tons of power, maybe shooting for 14's. Have 3.23 gear and posi. But thats aside from the point. I know i'll need to do some tuning to really get it running right. But, i already have a 350 computer and 350 injectors sitting in the shop. If i pick up the 350 ESC module and knock sensor, how well would my 305 run with those heads on a stock 350 tune? Would it be useable as i learn to tune?

It will run way rich. I had a stock 1992 350 computer on my Federal Mogul RV cammed, ported head 305 for a while. It pulled very hard on the top-end, but lacked on the bottem and ran rich. It would load-up at idle and stall. Around town driving at 1,000 rpm surged badly.
Keep your 305 knock sensor. The ESC module is the same between engines. My ESC is the one from the L05 currently. The numbers are the same, even the one on my 307 olds has the same GM part numbers.

So, what about talking more of a cam and a decent intake as well? And would i need anything aside from the computer and injectors i already have? I plan on keeping the 305. I already have the ported 601 heads. So im resurching cam and whatnot. But looking to make it driveable as i learn to tune.
