Is anyone successfully using an Edelbrock Performer RPM (#7101 or 7104) intake manifold with TBI? I plan on upgrading my intake manifold and am looking for something a little better than the Performer TBI manifold (#3704). I've heard a lot of good things about the Performer RPM manifold, plus it would give the option to run a carb down the road. I would obviously need a carb to tbi adapter plate to run with tbi. This manifold only appears to only be available without EGR provisions. Even if I plan to tune the EGR out (disable), can a non-EGR intake be used on EGR heads?

Yes you can use a non-egr manifold on egr heads. Unless you plan on getting a new cam I wouldn't suggest ditching the egr as I lost 3mpg doing so (my egr died before I got my cam in). Most people on here don't like the idea of going to a carb, there is also more to it than just taking off the tbi and putting on a carb. If you look in the tech guides there is on on switching to carb and all the things you'll need to buy.

No plans to switch to carb, I just mentioned that since this manifold would provide that option. I'll be swapping in an LT1 cam with the new manifold along with 081 heads. If the non-egr intake manifold will work with egr heads, what seals off the egr passages in the heads, the head gasket?

Good question, I thought about asking one time but didn't see it hurting anything. Hopefully someone will chime in. If you ditch EGR I'd go with a stock LT4 cam, easy enough and cheap enough to find.
