Air filter size
Hi guys this is my first post on the board. I just bought my '92 Firebird 3 days ago. I've been on the MonteCarloSS board for years. But I'm brand new in the F-Body world. My question is, if you switch out the TBI air cleaner lid for one off of a truck (or Monte Carlo) or something, what size fileter do you buy for it? Do you get a filter for a chevy truck, or a universal filter like a 14x3 or something? I tried doing a search, but I'm sorry I can't find it on this board. Thanks fo the help guys!

Hi and welcome to the board. You will need to get a filter for a truck with tbi or a Caprice 350. I do not remember the number as I have had a K&N for several years. It is not a 14 x 3 but the same diameter as stock but 1" higher. Hope that helps.

Thanks. I just bought the lid and filter. I am mostly hoping to see an increase in fuel mileage, but the car did chirp the tires a little more than usual.
The lid is a little rusty so I'm hoping some sanding and painting will remedy that.
