A cam is a good place to start, but while you are under the hood go for heads, intake, carb, valves, lifters, go for everything and do it once.

If you havnt done so already, ditch the stock exhaust for headers and a full 3" exhaust. As far as intakes go, a good dual plane is always good place to start. The performer RPM seems like a reasonable choice to go along with a new cam. The boxed off cowl induction with a good aircleaner would be another good mod.
