I have a 1989 formula had a 305 no in the process of putting a 350 in it.
Can any one tell me a good cam to go with Its a daily driver with tbi mostly stock auto car I want good fuel economy and good usable power I know where I can get a set of vortec heads for cheap would they help me or not The engine i am puting in has 50000 or so miles on it its a Rebuild ??? thats about all I know

You could go with an LT-1 cam which you can get on Ebay relatively cheap. As far as going with vortec heads, it would involve getting new intake manifold since the vortec heads has 8 intake bolts vice the regular 12 that is currently on your set up. You would also need to look into burning a new chip.

 

Can any one please help me on this stuff what works good for these cars I have a newer 350 that doesnt need rebuilt but Id like to go witha good cam and I have a 350 to 400 $ budget to get the engine stuffed in the car I dont know where the best bang for the buck is on these cars

 

What is your 350 out of? How complete is it?

 

350 was an l98 engine with vortec heads. The car is running and am currently using 55## injectors and about 26-30 PSI on the fpr. Still need new exhaust pipe from cat to muffler, chip burned and 3.73 gears installed. The car runs strong but still looking to get a chip burned.

 

the engine I plan to put is is a 350 fron a early 90s truck the head ## ard 14102193 I know where I can get some vortec heads as well and i had the heads that came stock tbi 305 formula which heads are the best I am also wanit to gowith a cam but dont know what would be good for my car mastly stock

 

If mileage is a concern, leave in the LO3.
