Quick Question

What is the formal name for the sensor on the passenger side of the motor, below the header flange, near the spark plugs. I broke it while installing headers and I need to get a new one but I bought the wrong sensor. Thanks.

This was on the passenger side and it has to do with the water temp because the gauge in the car doesn't work now. I thought this was the "coolant temporature sensor", but it is not. Does that sensor only relay water temp info to the dash or to the computer as well?
