Starting Issues
I have an 87 Chevy pickup w/ TBI. Have 2 issues Im sure are unrelated, one is longterm and an annoyance, other just started and has me stumped.
On friday, went to start my truck, it turned over for about a second, then just quit turning over, and started turning over again, I blipped the gas and it fired right up. Yesterday morning, it was still doing the same thing, so I had another ignition module sittin in the garage, put it in (ign modules have caused weird issues for me in the past), and it seemed to have fixed it. Well, after the truck sat all night, went out to start it this morning and its doing the same thing.
It will only do this if the truck sits for an extended period (more than ~5hours)
Only difference is now I dont have to tap the gas to make it fire. After it stalls for half a second, it will start turning over again and then fire right up.
Does anyone have a clue on this issue?
The other issue, its been doing it since I swapped motors (quite awhile), is that when the truck is hot, like stop at the gas station and go to refire, when I start it back up, it idles extremely low. Like 4-500rpm, and once or twice it has choked down, I have to do just rest my foot on the gas pedal while other foot is on the brake for the first minute or so after I refire. Then it will idle up and act fine. Any clues on this?

I know on my truck that when it sits overnight, it takes a few seconds before it fires up. I've been told that the fuel lines actually drain back to the tank after awhile and it takes a few seconds to repressurize the lines.

It normally fires straight up, the thing that is making me scratch my head is why it stops turning over, while Im still holding the key to start.
Turn the key, turns over for about a second, stops turning for about a second (still holding key), then turns over for another sec or two and fires.
