$500 for a 305 with tranny???

$500 for a 305 with tranny???
what do you guys think my mechanics cousin is parting out his car and they will sell me the engine and trans for 500, it's a 305t.b.i....my 2.8 still runs very good but i'm having problems with my trans...i need some feed back

If the engine/trans has 40K miles or less and is in good condition (needs nothing else) then I believe it is an OK deal. To swap that in place of the 2.8 will need the frame mounts, radiator, ECM and harness. And possibly some other items. Check which side of the car the starter, battery, and A/C compressor is.
On the engine swap board there should be a sticky on the v6 to v8 swap.

NEW SPRINGS are a must... I've seen several vehicles that use the 2.8 mounts on the SBC and they were fine, but I'd also upgrade sway bars too, thats a lot more weight than a stock SC is used too
