Another one of my great questions

What would you think would get more air flow to the throttle body a little better. the dual snorkle, k&n open elemental, or open air element that edelbrock makes?

The open element but it is hot air which does less for your performance. I would do the open element and leave the snorkel so that it blows some cool air inthe area then go to a junk yard pic up another snorkel and hook it up on the other side for even more air

Has anyone tried using a "carb hat" w/ a cold air tube - Kinda like the set-up on a late model 4.3L V6. I've seen the "hats" for supercharged carbed engines, but I've never seen one being used w/o the supercharger. I wonder if getting one of these, then running a peice of 3" aluminum conduit or something similiar in plastic such as the black PVC pipe away from the engine and picking up cold air from one of the cutouts on the inside of the driver's side fender and using a K&N cone filter would be more effecient than an open element since it would be cold air w/ very little restriction. What do you guys think?

please search and check the arcives. Obviously the open element flows more. The debate will always be open for performance loss of hot vs cold air. I have done some research. It seems that if you are racing for a while, like say, nascar. then hot air is bad. However, if you are doing autox or stoplite or dragracing, then the hot air isnt gona make jack sheet of a difference. My research mainly included looking at tons of pictures of racecars, and racing engines, etc..
