How do make it functional on a Formula with getting water in there. Feel free to post any pics of this mod.

I did it. when the hood was functional with early 80s T/As there was a rain gutter on there. take the rain gutter and throw away the rest of the old cold air setup.------------------

it was on there when I got it but you should be able to find it in a junkyard. The stock cold air setup was crap. If I had the T/A aircleaner housing, water would get into the carb/TBI. There was always a small puddle on the L03 air cleaner lid.

There is a puddle on mine now if I park downhill, and I still have the Formula blockoff plate.

I got an idea, get the T/A mesh screen and then hollow out your blockoff plate. seal screw them both back in place and seal it with silicone. Hollow out your stock block off plate by leaving a couple mili meters on the bottom of it so if water rolls on your hood then it won't fall inside the engine bay. sound good?

That might work, when I do it I think I will get a T/A Plate to bolt in I guess? Then I will find a way to channel the water than makes it through to the ground.
I'm going to put an open element on it, so whatever I do won't be like the factory setup.
