Recipe for performance/light weight? (Aluminum heads + Aluminum TBI intake)
Hello,
Some of you may remember my post a while back about emissions legal mods for my Volvo V8 swap-I think I have a grasp on emissions, but now I have another consideration: Weight. The small block Chevy in all it's cast iron glory weighs in at about 150lbs heavier than the 'ol Volvo half iron half aluminum 4 cylinder. So I thought why not spend the extra money for aluminum heads (why not L98 heads at that?) and get not only the weight savings, but the power as well. So with an aluminum intake as well I should be doing alright-BUT...Will the L98 heads, Edelbrock TBI manifold/cam, and Camaro TBI unit work together in harmony or will they just create a real dog of an engine?
