How much HP can the stock fuel pump make?

I know of a build up with a ZZ4 and they recommended going to the LO3 fuel pump assembly. The engine used stock TPI manifolds and a restricted air ducting sytem to limit it to 300HP (emmsions version) and the car ran 13.8's at 97mph. Would the pump support 350HP reliably and safely?

That depends on the fuel pressure you need to run. The ZZ4 carb setup only wants 5-8psi. Pump capacity drops as pressure rises. It may not pump enough fuel to make 300hp at higher fuel pressures.

The pump is rated at 180lbs/hr free flow, which equates to roughly 360hp @ .5 bsfc. There is no way this pump will do 350hp safetly. After you add fuel lines, filter, and the regulator the pump won't be moving 180lbs/hr.

So I guess I won't worry about the full port job on my torquers then. With the heads stock it should make 305-315HP and after a full port it would be 335-345HP. Oh well I guess it's better to be safer than sorry, plus it's a little cheaper. Thanks Anyone else?

I reread the article in The camaro handbook where they did the buildup (HOTROD mag) and in the sidebar they claim the assembly to be able to make more than enough fuel flow for 350HP. I wonder if they use a different formula or something, just throwinig that out there,
