Hey Yall

I just wanted to say hey to all yall since I'm new to what seems to be a board full of great info on TBI as well as 305 engines. I've browsed the older posts and yall have given me a lot of great ideas and I'm sure several more are to come. Thanks to you all.

------------------
1988 Camaro
305 bored .030 over
Stock TBI
Aluminum radiator
No smog pump
gutted factor cleaner
cam ground to crane specs
timing advanced 9 degrees
no thermostat
other than that its bone stock and ran a 16.4 @ 82 mph with earth shattering wheel hop and a 2.88 60 ft time. (this was with the rebuild and cam only)

Your 305 is bored over? Did u do that or did u buy it like that? Thats weird, I never seen an engine bored over and then aboustly no other mods done to it. Anyways, welcome to the board man.

The 305 was a rebuild unit that was bored .030 over. Dont ask me why it just was lol. The times are slow because I had wheel hop that would shake the fillings out of you teeth. I had a 2.88 or worse 60 ft time and the car wheelb hopped all the way to the eight mile marker at the track. I'm sure with a decent 60 ft time and the wheel hop being eliminated would put me into the 15's. My heads are also still stock except for the researfacing I had done on them when they warped and the three angle valve job. I haven't done any mods because the tranny gave a few months after the new engine was put in and I bought a 97 Z28 soon after that. The 97 is gone now so its time to fix the 88 back up and get it running the way it should before I do any other mods. After all I have broken two flexplates and bent an xle in the car. It needs some serious chassis modifications.

Get lower control arms and see if it is wheel hop. Lakewood sells them for 80 bucks and are great from what I hear people say using them. Easy to install too.

Honestly I've been looking at getting the Lakewood Traction Action Lift Bars along with Lakewood's 90/10 Drag Shocks in the front as well as their 50/50 Drag shocks in the back to get rid of the wheel hop. I mean it hops so bad you can actually watch the rear tires skip off of the ground.

To anyone that still cares this car still hasn't been fixed yet lol. Yea I've ben gone for ages but hopefully I will be back in full force soon enough. Actually the car isn't to far away from beng put back together. Pulled the engine this past Wednesday but had to return the hoist before I could get the oil pan I snagged from a junk yard cleaned out. I'm thinking I will buy a new pan next weekend and then toss it all back together. Wish I had money ofr headers while the engine is out but that'll hve to wait.
