Edelbrock Pro Flo?

Just bought a 14" by 3" pro flo air cleaner. How much more, if any, horsepower can i get from it by putting it on my 88 L03? I've heard many mixed reviews but theres not much that could be worse then the air cleaner set up.....

I would hazzard a guess that the 2.73 gears that came stock on that one are keeping you well within the limits of even the stock air cleaner assembly at "normal" speeds, but my experience has been that a free flowing air intake will improve both throttle response AND fuel economy(even if only slightly). It is, however, the starting point of any performance enhancements, as you will never make any improvement trying to suck the ocean through a 2"x3" straw!

The exhaust is even worse. It is a 2 1/4" straw plugged by a partially plugged catalytic converter, restricting the most restrictive log style cast-iron manifolds made.

i know there are many threads on comparing CAI and open elements, but has someone ever tried to wrap up an open element in a closed box and duct cold air via a dual snorkel setup to the open element?
i'm sorry if it has already been discussed on this board, in this case i was unable to find the thread about this.
