Ever since I installed a Mallory ingintion(hygfire IVA) and a Accel super coil I have been geting these misfires and somtimes the car shuts off. All the rest checks out fine(spark plugs, wires...) and i took of the box and it runs fine with just the super coil. Do i need some kind of resisters or another coil?

 

hmm that'd odd. It is usualy a good idea to have all componets from the same manufacturer. like a MSD coil with MSD box.. that's probably how they were designed.

ya i agree stick with one kind of inginition stuff. sometime the different brands cause problems with the other

I ran an MSD box with an Accel Supercoil for the longest time with no problems at all. You might have a defective box. I recently switched to an MSD Blaster SS coil because it was just time for the old coil to go and I want the ignition system to match. Now almost everything is MSD, the box, the coil, the cap & rotor, and the plug wires.

 

I think it might be the box, Ill have to send it back, thanx guys
