Keep it in fifth as long as you can, use the cruise control if it works, and don't load it alot in fifth, it just wastes gas. Other than that don't worry too much about gas mileage, or you will end up buying a honda sooner or later. Just Kidding! Drive safe, and have AAA or a cell phone on you just in case.

I have a pretty much stock 92 RS.. aside from flows and a K&N she's bone stock. Before I did a tune up on it, I got 26mpg on the freeway.. no cruise control. and I never slowed below 70, hell it gets better mileage at 80(i'm not kidding either.) After a tune up and resetting the timing, I get 29.5mpg on the freeway, I went 387 miles on 13.1 gal.. didn't even use all my gas! just don't vary your speed much, pick one and stick with it. I'd go ahead and tank up every 260 miles just in case, since you don't know the car yet. Maybe even every 250.. just to stay on the safe side. Around town, normal driving I tend to fill up every 270-280 miles. I usually have a gallon left.

If your engine is in good shape you should be able to get 19 to 21 MPG avg. on a tank, thats what I got with mine new and it didn't change any after making mods to it, I can get 28 to 31 MPG on the interstate at 75 MPH on flat ground with the cruise on.

My best is 32 MPG.

My average is 27.

In town I get around 18-20.

The mods helped the mileage.
