Fuel Filter.....

I just bought a fuel filter for my 92 RS. i know its located just aft of the drivers side door. does the fuel need to be drained before installing or will the fuel not spill out when i replace it??

I think you could probably unscrew your gas cap to take some pressure off the system and let the car sit for a little while. When I changed mine I did neither and only a little fuel came out.

If you really want to you can unplug the fuse for the fuel pump and try and start the engine, that will clear some fuel out, but you will always spill some when doing this. When I change them at the dealership where I work for the summer, we just unscrew them and let a little gas get on the floor. It shouldn't come pouring out at all.

i little bit of fuel is going to come out. but ya, take off the gas cap. just make sure you dont get gas in your eyes, and arent smoking while changing it.

Sometimes it'll drip alot, but it does eventually stop, just have plenty of rags handy.
