hesitation

i have a 82 crossfire injection that has a big time heitation problem also when cold it will cough like a mini back fire.i was told this was because it was running to lean.there are no o2 sensor codes in the ecm could the syncronization be off ? what steps can i take to remedy this problem?I know ther is somebody out there who can help me.PLEASE!!!!

Check your timing. That is the first thing I would do since you aren't getting any codes.

thank you i think that may just be the problem because i did put a new distributor in and i could not get the timing marks to line up then i found out i have to disconnect a tan wire with a black stripe then set the timing.is that wire located in side the car or under the hood?THANKS AGAIN!!!

it is buy the passenger side valve cover twords the back probabley tucked in the wiring harness. if that doesnt work try turning up the pressure regulator located in the rear tbi unit. it is capped off and only seen when dissasembled. break the factory cap off and turn it up to 3/4 off the top(the little tab sticking out of the regulator. that sould help if youre running lean
