Vortec TBI SB Chevrolet Intake
I'm working on a configuration for a new engine for my 89 bird. I'm probably going to go with the 350HO Crate w/ Vortec heads. Has anyone used the GM performance TBI vortec intake (PN 12496821) or heard anything good or bad? Everyone else seems to have used a carb intake with an adapter. Any input would be appreciated.
I looked into it and saw one at burt chev in denver. It still is limited by the 1 11/16 bores and requires a few mods for the brake vaccum line and relocation of another sensor as I recall. Some will argue that the 1 11/16 are adequate but I think that most guys have done the carb manifold so they can go to the 2" TB unit. The manifold is also about $300............bob
