Hey LO3 owners , how are you changing your o2 sensor. Is there a trick or special tool that helps. Mines an 89 with the sensor on the drivers side, behind everything!

Mine to is on the left side exhaust manifold, use a long extension with a swivel attached to an oxygen sensor socket (you can get one at any parts store) after you get it wormed through all the crap on the engine it's very easy.

Ended up using a wrench, very tiring, should've got the socket , but it's done, only took about 1 hour for a 15 min job!

Another reason to get headers! My Edelbrock headers place the O2 sensor right next to the oil filter. Jack up the car and 3 minutes later the old sensor is out and the new one in.

With the socket I borrowed from the auto parts store I had it done in about 20 mins. Just used a long extension with the socket. The car was warm, too.

When I changed my friends O2 sensor with his hooker headers and custom y-pipe I had to pull the header out to get it out(I think that was the y-pipes fault, I can't remember now).

Mine is still stock so I had all that crap in my way too. I just used an open ended wrench. I couldn't get it to break loose though. The way I finaly got it loose was to put the wrench on it, and use a rope to pull on the wrench from the other side of the car, hey it worked, took me about 20 mins.
