dyno numbers
Hey does anyone have any dyno numbers from a bone stock TBI 305 powered f-body? i just ran mine on the dyno yesterday at school. 157 HP @ 4250 and 233 TQ @ 2900, with the mods in my sig. just interested in how much i picked up with the headers back pipes and K&N filter. those #'s are at the wheels btw.

Re: dyno numbers
I have read about several people making 140 to 145 rwhp on entirely stock TBI LO3 engines in either Fcars or Bcars, in both cases running thru a 700R4 (aka 4L60) transmission. That's about right given the stock 170 fwhp rating and the 15 to 18% typical powerloss from engine to rear wheels.
If you made 157 rwhp then you picked up approx 12 to 17 hp; ECM tuning would probably pull out a bit more at all rpms, not just at the peaks. And so would a good cold air intake -- having a flow-restrictive filter really isn't a problem with a near stock LO3, but pulling heated underhood air isn't helping IMO.

Re: dyno numbers
Yea if i was to keep the stock TBI F.I then i'd have it tuned. my A/f ratio was flatlined at 11:1 throughout the RPM band. and at idle was around 13.5:1, yea she's alittle rich...lol but pretty soon i'm switching to Carbed with all new parts as per my sig. then once i get it together i can tune the carb for best performance on my schools chassis dyno

Re: dyno numbers
I'm sure you've found that there are quite a few of us tuning the factory TBI ECM. With about $150 worth of tuning equipment and a laptop you can have complete control over your engine. It'll actually be cheaper than getting a return style regulator, carb, non-CC distributor and swaping it all over.
It won't be as simple to tune as a carb, but you'll learn more about engines and what it actually takes to make one run well. Your stock TB will support just over 300hp and a BB unit will support over 425hp.
