I am looking at a 383 running a bigger cam. I don't have the final specs right now but around a .490 lift and 10.1 compression. Now I know that the Pro-jection system can handle this but can a GM set up do this. By GM I mean will a 454 TB with GM injectors and a custom prom push this motor? I am working with a local engine builder and he was wondering what the limits of GM TBI's are. If you guys need more detailed specs let me know. Thanks!

it could, though should ya? hmmm, i wouldnt with that much motor, depending on what you want it for. all out racing? driving and racing? if its a driver, im sure you wouldnt mind sacrificing a few horse for more drivability.

and you are one more case that proves i need
to build my 2.25" 2bbl unit.

december is the month for having the prototype made now, its been nearly a year since i first started working on it.

The Stock GM 454 TBI unit is about 640 cfm. Run the numbers and see what you come up with. You can do a little porting and poliishing on them and up that number the about 650. You would definately need bigger injectors and a custom prom. I think .490 is really mild for a 383. With a cam that small in a 383 I think a GM tbi will handle it just fine. but that just my opinion.
