Big Walbro pump, will this work on my TBI?
I have a big Walbro fuel pump that's factory part for a Ford GT40. I've attached the graph, I'm not sure if this is basically a 255lph pump, or what. I just want to make sure my regulator can keep up and I won't end up dumping over 30psi to my injectors. I have the regulator built adjustable already but it's already turned down pretty far. I've attached a flow graph and chart if anyone can help me on this I'de really appreciate it.

Not sure about the Ford GT40 Walbro pump in particular, but I'm running the Walbro 255 pump in my 89 TBI car with the stock, untampered with pressure regulator, and haven't had any problems at all. I put it in about a year ago, and it's working great. The stock regulator seems to hold the pressure at the correct amount just fine on mine.

Ive been told my 255 walbro, would over power the stock regulator, and it wont be able to "regulate" at your set psi any more... I would like the answer, or if anyone else is running a high flow pump with stock regulator and what psi?

Its sort of hit or miss with some setups...
I have the 255, and the lowest the pressure goes is 11 PSI when its totally unregulated. If your not planning on serious mods, the 190 may be less problematic.

I honestly couldn't tell you what my actual psi is right now. As anyone with a TBI car should well know, it's a PITA to hook up a pressure gauge on them.
All I can tell you is that I've been running it for over a year now, and the car runs great. In fact, it sailed right through emissions testing with the 255 pump, gutted cat, and no AIR pump. That being the case, I doubt it's running overly rich from too much fuel pressure.

i will try to just do the mod first... see if that holds up to the 190 or maybe even the 255. If it works, no need to by a 130$ regulator.... I can save the cash, and use it elsewhere... thanks guys.
I dont see why you would want too low of a psi less than 12 anyway. if I can get the stock to sit at 17-21 psi or something in there, i can tune around that psi.......

Re: Big Walbro pump, will this work on my TBI?
I've already made my regulator adjustable and one weird thing I noticed taking apart various TBI regulators, most of them have a small wire weak spring, but 2 of them I took apart have thicker wire silver springs that're stiffer. I'm going to go ahead and swap this pump in and use the weaker spring. Does anyone know if this pump I have is a Walboro 255? From what I've read about the other pumps it's compared to, it's bigger though I've never seen a bigger pump than a 255.
