Re: 92 starting issues
will it stay running if you give it gas?
You need 4 thing for an engine to run. Cranking, compression, fuel, and spark.
You seem to have cranking, and the engine did run so for now let's assume you have compression. Do you have spark at the plugs? Is it a nice, fat, bright blue spark? Do you have fuel from the injectors? These are the places to begin for a basic no start issue.

Re: 92 starting issues
well if i give it gas it bogs out during start up. so im getting plenty of fuel from the injectors most likely too much fuel. and i have already replaced the cap, rotor, and plugs before it got to this point. i can hear a his when i try to start it up. though it was a vacum leak. checked the hoses from the tpi they all checked out ok to me. might get new ones soon just to be safe. i think its manly fuel related. it feels and sounds like its getting way too much fuel. thanks for the help

Re: 92 starting issues
Can you verfiy that it is getting too much gas or are you just guessing? Have you looked at the injectors while the engine is cranking? Is the gas coming out in a healthy cone shaped spray? Have you SEEN the spark that is available at the plugs? You have not replaced everything in the ignition system, not that I am recommending that you do. You could still have a faulty ignition module, pickup coil, or ignition coil. Or a bad connection at any one of those components.
Unless you have a fuel injector that is shorted to ground on the ground side it is not probable that you're getting too much fuel.

Re: 92 starting issues
i can verify that i am getting too much gas. cause when i choke it during starting it up it tries to fire. but if i let off the gas during the same start it just bogs out and i have to choke it forever just to get it to kick over a little bit. i have seen the spark and its a bright blue to purple. but it dosnt help when the plugs are completly soaked with gas. from trying to get it to work with all the help which is apprieciated. i am finding out i might also have a oil problem. one thing leads to another i guess. i did replace the control module with the other ignition stuff to. sorry i forgot. the fuel is in a really hefty cone. and i can hear it when im in the car. just some extra info. thanks

Re: 92 starting issues
you upgrade injectors? install new fpr? or anyother fuel system components? may not be ignition system parts but may be a conection check continuity on the parts also new parts screw up too check your coil and you icm easy way to rule out spark is pull #1 spark plug, put it back in the wire and see if it sparks while u turn the car over and the same time you can put your finger over the spark plug hole and turn the engine over. If it blows your finger out of the way you have compression and if your getting spark, then your problem must be fuel.
