I'm new to cars and I was wondering what tools I would need and how hard would it be for a newb to put in new heads pistons and cam?

I suggest you get an old junker, a take it apart. That was how I learned, my brother had a 78 malibu that he threw a rod out of the side of the block on. He let the car sit forever and moved away, he said I could have the car. I bought a haynes manual, borrowed my uncles tools and started tearing into it. I borrowed a friends engine puller pulled the engine and tranny, took it all apart. I sold some of the stuff that was still good, like the heads. Junked most of it. I think I ended up selling the body for like 25 bucks.
