Ok, i am writing this thread because i know a lot of people have had at one time or another a hesitation or bogging problem at WOT or close to WOT. I have read pretty much all the threads on this problem and have gone through all of the hassle of checking just about everything with no luck. I have an AFPR on my TBI set-up with flow matched 350 injectors, i cant tell you how many times i changed back and forth from the new injectors and old ones, and adjusted the fuel pressure and even went back to the stock regulator. Adjusted timing a few times until i got it just right, checked and rechecked wires and changed them out just in case, but didnt fix the bogging problem. It would act strange sometimes too, for example i would get in and drive it and the bog would be really bad and get gradually better but not cease. i would then shut the car off and come back later and it would be fine then get worse, so it was very frustrating. I played with the IAC, replaced it, checked my TPS and it was fine and datalogged a few times and didnt come up with any SES lights or serious problems. I checked my MAP sensor and it was fine, my exhaust and O2 sensor are only a year old. All my vacuum lines are good as well. Anyway, i felt like i went though just about everything with no results until i decided to pull off the regulator one more time and put in a the shortest spring my kit came with and adjust it all the way in. Now just fyi, i have a fuel pressure guage set up on my TBI and it was always reading around or above 15psi, but from what i read on a lot of the threads about this particular problem, it seems a lot of people felt they needed more fuel to solve the problem, so that is what i was doing to try to fix the bog, to no affect though. My point of this whole thread is for anyone who has had this problem and gone through just about everything, the answer may not be more fuel but less fuel. I am around 13psi now and the hesitation is gone and the car runs great again. But let me reiterate, I am running an AFPR and modified 305 TBI with 350 injectors, so this might not be the problem in your application, but check and recheck everything before you go replacing parts.
Anyone can just go and change parts, dont be just anyone

Have you tuned the prom Yet?? Any kind of fuel mod/engine mod needs to be reprogramed into the chip. If you dont have the equipment to burn chips I would highly recommend that you invest in some of the basic stuff. Without being able to see what the engine is doing and how much fuel/timing it wants its pretty hard to get everything to run right. Im just wondering what kind performance mods that you have and why you decided to go to the 350 injectors etc?? Just my 2 thoughts
Oh yeah, i didnt mention that i did have a custom chip burnt for my application. i pretty much am running the edelbrock power package, i.e. the cam, intake and double roller timing chain. i also have hooker headers with 3" inch exhaust to a flowmaster muffler. the heads are an aluminum set off of an 87 vette. the tranny was rebuilt with shift kit and corvette servo. there are some other minor mods like underdrive pulleys, ect. Its a mild set up but i drive the car pretty much everday and i didnt want to go too wild with it. I went with the 350 injectors because 1) i wanted injectors that were flow matched as opposed to stock which vary a lot and 2) to help feed the updated set up, although i am sure i could get away with the stock injectors.

Just wondering who did your custom chip??? If it was a mail order chip i guarantee that you have a lot more left in the motor!!! I would suggest taking a look at Moates.net and get into burning your own chips. Sounds like a pretty decent package though, should run pretty well. What are the cam specs?? wich edel cam?? You can get into tuning and burning your own chips for about $150 I think. Prob less than you paid for your chip. It will make a big difference on what you can do and what your car runs like.
I actually had the chip made by tbichips, it wasnt like a hyperchip or any of that off the shelf junk, i gave them my specs and all my upgrades and it seems to be working good, no error codes or such. The cam is part number 3702, its the cam made for TBI and LG4 motors. I had thought about getting into burning my own chips but honestly i am looking to get an older chevelle or camaro that doesnt have a computer. Aside from dealing with the computer, i dont want to have to deal with all the emission stuff either, here in NY they are a pain, and i really dont have the extra time or cash right now to get into burning custom proms. I have the cable for datalogging and checking my parameters, but thats really as far as i want to go with it right now. My car makes enough power
for my use and like u said i am sure i can squeeze more out of it but i am happy with it now that i have got it tuned and running good. If i do decide to stay with the car though, i would eventually go with a 383 set up and take out the 305. Thanx for your inquiries though, ill kepp them in mind down the road

last time i was looking for cams they listed that edelbrock tbi package for the truck tbi without roller cams it said not to use with roller motors... i dont know about now maybe they changed.
I have a smilar 305 with world heads and a zz4 cam and with 350 injectors it runs lean. the stock fuel pump cant flow much.. at 15 your pushing the pump no matter what spring you try the bog might be related to your pump shot settings mine was it was bad enough i used to get a lean pop through the intake with a stock prom i got his stage 2 prom and that was a lot better but theres a lot of things he doesnt touch in the chip I got all the burning stuff and I did a lot myself I added some timing down low which did help too. it says your from long island I cant be to far away if you want to try burning a new chip I got the burner, software and some chips laying around growing dust.. your more than welcome to use it.

hmmm, where on long island are you? I might take you up on that offer, and maybe get a little more knowledge on some datalogging information.
