ok i'm lost right now!!!HELP!!!
OK so here goes, bought 305 tbi camaro, put it away for winter. spring comes. put headers on y-pipe and cat test pipe on along with flowmaster muffler. then went on to put a megashifter in with a shiftkit. drove car for a few hours and car was runnign hot. so was told it was safe to remove the thermostat since it was a summer car and doesnt use the heater. So then a few days later im sitting in a parking lot when a 4 banger backs up to my door and rev's me off...i then turn my car on and rev him off. Then car dies and wont turn over. Luckily i am at a gas station/garage that my buddy works at. We push the car into the shop only to get a call the next day for him to tell me that his boss the GM master tech looked at my car and the wiring harness from the motor to the dash is shot. burned up. So now i'm screwed i have power to where the car cranks and the brake lights and hazard lights work and horn other goody's like windows rear hatch they all work. I am in complete stand still because i dont know what to do. i seperated the wires that were melted together and taped them off to see if anything was shortign out, no luck the car gets no fuel. how do i find out what is the problem? the car cranks and it sounds like the injectors are tryign to pump but just sounds like air. Hard to explain, like the computer is telling the car injectors to deliver fuel but the fuel pump isnt pumping i'm just nogt good at these things. At this point would it be better for me to just strip everything out a go for the carb. I'm not trying to break my bank and am just looking for insight on what things i would have to look for and at when going down either route...please leave any insight you may have thanks.

time to go to the junk yard and get a whole engine side harness(firewall forward) from a donor. or contact s10wildside at efi connection . com and get th parts to make your own harness, or pay him to build you the wiring harness. time and money involved to retrofit a carb to a tbi car is better spent repairing the tbi. did the tech retrieve any codes or bother to check for fuel pressure?. pull off the air cleaner and have someone crank the car and look for fuel to spray from the injectors. verifiy presence of spark, pull a plug wire and hold it near a ground and look for a blue spark . you may have lost both and that is usually caused by the ignition module in the distributor going bad.
