HELP with IAT
I put in a new open air element for my 88' TBI, but I wasn't sure where to put the IAT plug, as there is no place to put it like there was in the stock air cleaner. Needless to say, I melted the top plastic part of it. Do I need a new one, and is it necessary to get one before I drive the car again? Where should I put it if i get a new one? (that is if I need a new one)

Re: HELP with IAT
I'm pretty sure you need it so go ahead and replace it.
After you do that, tuck it away somewhere close to a cold air source so it can read a cool measure making your A/F mixture what it should be for max performance. BE CAREFUL THOUGH: If you ground it out against some metal it could zap your whole electrical system.

Re: HELP with IAT
How the hell did you melt it ? Anyway, just unplugg it for now and the car should still run. But you will want to get a new one ASAP and you will throw a code while you drive around without.

Re: IAT question
dont just throw it up anywhere put it back in the air cleaner. take the base off like i did and just drill a hole big enough and pop that sucker right back in there and itll be fine. the base should have circular marking on the bottom as to where to cut.
