Re: Need advice with EBL setup

Well after a year of pause, I finaly got around to installing the EBL in my 90K5. So far I've made a few simple tweaks to the file and have it idling. Just when I thought my idle was ok (cold), I let it warm all the way till CL. As the engined warmed I noticed the BLM's falling off till they hit 108? The VE tabes are still EBL as I haven't been able to get VE learn working just yet. Can you do a VE learn for idle?

I've inserted a link to the (log-file) just incase anyone has time and would like to give an opinion. Any help will be appreciated!

My setup:

355 SBC
Blue printed & balanced
190cc Trick FLow heads cnc
1 5/8" long tube headers
219 @.050 280/280 hydraulic roller
Ported Edelbrock manifold
48mm TB
68# inj's
10.1
FUll MSD ign.
EBL

Thanks

Kelvin

Re: Need advice with EBL setup

A.) Fill in the idle section of the timing map with 24* of timing, your engine seems to run with more vacuum as the timing is brought up to there.

B.) Open the Minimum Air Rate screw on the TBI to allow the throttle plates to bypass more air. The IAC is seeing around 150 counts at idle, I like to see 5-15 fully warmed up in Park/Neutral with No heavy electrical loads or A/C.

C.) You are setting both a CTS and IAT low code. You need to investigate the cause of this and correct it. You can choose to disable the IAT from the calibration as well.

D.) As far as the VE learn, you can do them at idle and running down the road. You will need to drive with a light steady foot for a while. Make sure that your learn is setup to learn from the appropriate item if you have a Narrowband O2 use the BLM setting. If a wideband, select the appropriate wideband. Also make sure that you coolant temperature thresholds are set accordingly.

E.) BLMs dropping as the engine is warmed up is just the nature of the beast with speed density TBI systemst that are running without a functioning MAT and MAT compensation.

Re: Need advice with EBL setup

Fast355,

I'll get those changes plugged in tomorrow. The CTS stayed at 40c till the engine warmed past it? It started moving a little later in the trace. As for the IAT, I don't think the truck has one, but I'll address that also tomorrow.

Thanks,

KM
