catastrophic failure what now

ok so i hadnt been riding my car for about a month due to charging system failure. back in the summer i replaced the radiator and the next day heater core went out. so i bypassed it and refilled with water since all the brand new antifreeze was in the floorboard and i was tight on cash at the time. well not needing the heat all summer i forgot. well this week of 10-19 degree mornings froze my block and i'm pretty sure it's either cracked or at the very least popped a freeze plug. every eve i've came home from work there is a trail of water, i'm guessing where it has thawed out during the day. it looks to be coming from the back of the block but could be from anywhere and I'm in no mood to raise it up to look at a really expensive dumbass mistake but it's my fault.

with that being said, http://www.crateenginedepot.com/stor...96-P786C3.aspx
anyone done buisness with these guys? know of a better deal somewhere? I love camaro's but i am so close to just giving up on this. as i said radiator, heater core, transmission was replaced, charging system, cracked the windshield and now this. i feel like i'm fighting a loosing battle here. goodwrench engine seems to make sense as this is a daily driver and rarely sees a spirited drive. worried about delivery fee + having to have a certified tech or dealership install to cover warrnty which 36 mo/100k miles doesnt seem that bad, i've clocked 192k on the original and it was still very strong. was being the keyword.

Re: catastrophic failure what now

Id check and see if it was just a freezeplug. Theyre not easy to replace, but its easier then just junking the motor.

As far as the motor goes, a goodwrench L05 is probably the best way to go. If you have some way to transport it, most places will ship it for a small fee to a shipping terminal for < $100. Itll run around $180 if you have to deliver it to your doorstep. Also make sure to check ahead of time that they have a lift gate and the means to move the skid.
