need help quick

I'm trying to change my valve springs, but I'm having trouble taking apart the originals. When I compress the springs the retainers will not come apart from the valve locks. Need some suggestions on how to make them come apart.

Re: need help quick

Whack the retainers with a BFH repeatedly until they let go.

I assume you're doing it with the heads on the car?

Re: need help quick

After you tap the retainer to pop the locks free, use a magnet on the end of a stick to retrieve the locks.
