The ESC module/filter is located behind the relays near the brake booster. Flat plastic box about 4 x 4 " square and an inch thick. Probably has the three letter code HKM on it.
Most likely not causing the idling issue. Knock counts are ignored when the engine is at idle. Idle meaning not moving and the proper RPM.
