How much fuel will a 5.7L tbi fuel metering body flow at 18 psi? I have removed the stock regulator, radiused the internal passages, and installed a blockoff plate. There is an aeromotive 13301 vafpr installed downstream from the tbi unit with a vacuum line connected to the intake manifold.

Trying to decide on an in-tank pump and wonder how much the metering body will flow before the the restriction exceeds my idle fuel pressure (about 18 psi.)

I am looking at the Bosch 040 pump, rated for 102 Lph @ 94.5 psi (no flow curve for this pump, although it is reasonable to assume about 140 Lph @ 18 psi.)

Anybody got experience with this?

 

I got a walbro 190 lph at 20 psi and bbc tbi fueling a 400+ hp 350 up to 6000+ RPM. What is your hp goal? All I know is that walbro makes quality pumps, compared side by side with stockers. Only 100 bucks with assurance you are not gonna have to drop the tank for a long time.

 

I am leary of the walbro pumps. Too many stories of failure after <5000 km's, and the sale of the company to a multinational etc.

 

i agree with doctorcad. they were acquired by T.I. Tech which manufactures them in China and has very limited (that is no) warranty. from what i read though, only the 255 are failing, the serial or parts number goes like F200000169 or so. unfortunately i have one of these kicking around here, but i will definately get another pump to put in. i'm not that fond of the fuel pump swap job to do it twice. here's a link with some more info about the GSS340M that used to be used for our vehicles.

probably best to get a stock AC Delco TPI pump. it's called EP241 and you should be able to get it for about 70-80$. good for about 50psi and 160lph.

Damn, didn't know about the whole sell out thing. Sorry for the mis-info. I just know that they have been reliable in the past. No problems with my 190 so far.
