305 and 350 tbi fuel pump

i looked up the fuel pump for the 305 tbi in my camaro and looked up the fuel pump for a 91 silverado 350 tbi and i noticed that the fuel pumps are the same. i was under the impression that the 350 used a higher flow fuel pump. does this mean that i can swap in a stock 350 and not have to change fuel pumps. if i swap engines i really dont want to go through the process of changing out the fuel pump as well. its an extra expense and a pain to pull the tank, as we all know.

Re: 305 and 350 tbi fuel pump

Your stock (?) fuel pump is probably getting old & tired (hmmm, sounds like me).

It MIGHT be able to feed the 350, but it might not. Just hook up a fuel pressure gauge so you can see it while you're driving. If you can punch it and not see an appreciable pressure drop you're probably OK.

If you've done anything to the 350 though, your fuel requirements will probably outstrip the stock pump. Especially if you're moving into larger injectors, or trying to overcrank the pressure.
