Fuel Everywhere!!!!

So I got this new air cleaner and was having a hard time putting it on (https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tbi/...aner-swap.html). I could not get it on with the stock stud because then my throttle cable would be in the way. So I had to change the stud. I have no clue about TBI what so ever. So I just took out the top part with the torque head screws on it. Well on the tower thing (in the photos) fuel started pissing everywhere. I had to get paper towels to stop it from getting on my butterfly valves. But I mean it went everywhere. It was fuel but smelled stronger than normal fuel I almost fell on my *** when I went up to sniff it. This was a few days ago and my car port still smells. I have not had the car running yet so I couldn't tell you if it was flooded or not. I just want to know what happened???????

Re: Fuel Everywhere!!!!

well, you removed the 'plug' from a pressurized line - that's what you get.. should have looked into that more before removing that stuff. next time you do it remove your gas tank cap, pull the fuel pump fuse and crank/run the engine till it dies. then there should be a lot less fuel (pressure) in the lines / passages of the tb.
